Should I give up on him?

Okay, so I am in 8th grade, and there is this y guy in 7th grade. He is my age, he is in ALPs(advanced learning program) for 7th grade and I'm in ALPs for 8th grade. I like smart guys, because people who are stupid get kind of boring. He is also very different and kind of awkward, I like it. He is tall, and has black johnny depp hair with ice blue eyes...oh god he's hot. He also has an amazing personality. So, I wrote him a note with my phone number and I said I liked him and stuff. I also gave him my locker number, but he never came. I am a determined person so I didn't want to give up yet. I went to his locker, and he didn't talk much. He blushed a lot. Yesterday he looked like he was coming to my locker and he turned around and he did it like seven times. Like he was too nervous to come but he wanted to. I went to his locker with my friend and she said you two should talk and then he didnt say anything to her. She left, and I kinda just stood there awkwardly as he shoved all his stuff in his backpack. I felt kinda creepy and he wasn't talking so I kinda just walked away.... There is a dance next Friday and I want to go with him so bad.... I don't know...Does he sound interested at all? btw, he never called or anything. :/ Should I give up?
