CONFUSED about gauge, amperage, and length of jumper cables..HELPP?

I HAVE a 1999 nissan pathfinder, and i just purchased a jumper cable, DIE HARD brand, 18 ft. 400 AMP, and 4 gauge. ARE THESE GOOD CABLES? or just run of the mill cheapo cables..i purchased them for about $50
